How do I know which battery type is suitable for my product?
The right battery type depends on device space, voltage, discharge current, runtime, charging method, safety requirements, and application environment. Thin devices often use LiPo pouch batteries, while higher-power packs may use cylindrical Li-ion, 18650 / 21700 cells, or LiFePO4 cells for backup and energy storage projects.
Can THOR Power develop a battery if I only have device space or an old sample?
Yes. You can provide available battery space, voltage, application, photos, drawings, or an existing battery sample. We can review the battery direction, possible cell structure, connector, PCM/BMS, and sample feasibility based on the information available.
Why can two batteries with the same voltage and capacity perform differently?
Voltage and capacity are only part of battery performance. Real runtime and stability are affected by load current, cell quality, internal resistance, cutoff voltage, protection board settings, temperature, and the device power curve.
Why does a battery pack shut down during real device testing?
Unexpected shutdown may come from peak current, BMS overcurrent protection, voltage drop, temperature protection, unsuitable cell selection, or incorrect protection parameters. Load current and working conditions should be reviewed before sampling.
Can the sample battery be kept consistent in mass production?
A working sample is only the first step. Stable production requires controlled cell sourcing, pack structure, welding, PCM/BMS assembly, electrical testing, aging, labeling, packaging, and final QC records.
Can you make replacement or upgrade battery packs for existing devices?
Yes. We can review voltage compatibility, connector type, wire layout, housing fit, discharge performance, protection design, label, and packaging for replacement or upgrade battery pack projects. Matching the original installation space and connector is critical, so old battery photos, dimensions, or a sample help us confirm a drop-in fit before sampling.
When should UN38.3, MSDS, and shipping requirements be considered?
Shipping documents and transport requirements should be considered before mass shipment. Depending on the battery model and destination, UN38.3, MSDS, labels, packaging method, and lithium battery transport rules may affect delivery planning.
Do you support sample testing before mass production?
Yes. Sample testing is a core step in our project workflow. Before mass production, an approved sample confirms size, voltage, connector, wire length, PCM/BMS, runtime, and assembly fit. Locking these details at the sample stage is what keeps batch production consistent and avoids costly changes once tooling and cell sourcing are fixed.
